Kate Vet

Qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1990 she has worked in small animal practice for most of the last twenty years founding Anton Vets in 2010. Her main interests are cat medicine as well as dog and cat surgery. Outside of work she enjoys dog walking and gardening

John Vet

Qualifying from Royal Veterinary College in 1990, John has specialised in exotic species for many years. When not working he enjoys all sports especially cricket – though watching not playing these days!- as well as real ales.

Anna Vet

Anna graduated from Liverpool University and after a period in mixed practice settled in Hampshire to concentrate on small animal work. She has a particular interest in surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her young daughter and walking her crazy cocker spaniel.

Daniella Vet

Daniella graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2014 and started here just a week later! She enjoys working with all small animals, especially cats, and has plans in the future to become an exotics vet. At home she lives with her fiance and enjoys baking, keeping fit, reading and going to music gigs. She has two cats; Alfie and Paddy.

Emma Vet

Emma graduated from Bristol vet school in 2004 and soon after started work as a small animal vet in the New Forest. She has recently joined the team at Anton vets after moving to the area. She has a keen interest in dog and cat medicine especially Dermatology. Outside of work she is kept busy entertaining her young daughter, two rescue dogs and a husband!

Caroline Practice Manager

Caroline has recently joined the practice after having worked in a number of Multi National Companies and later in the private catering industry. She has her own menagerie consisting of horses, dogs, cats and a rabbit. She spends her spare time training and competing horses in dressage.

Laura Head Nurse

Laura has been part of our team at Anton Vets since we opened in January 2010. She is particularly interested in feline nursing and talking to our clients about the care of their pets. Laura enjoys cooking, watching films and is a keen supporter of Southampton Football Club.

Adrian Registered Nurse

Adrian has been part of the Anton Vets team since June 2011, and enjoys general nursing. Outside of work his hobbies include archery and walking his bouncy dalmatian Morf.

Kirsty Registered Nurse

Kirsty qualified in January 2010. After staying at her training practice for 7 years she decided it was time for a change and has recently joined us at Anton. At home she has 2 dogs- a lively labrador called Merlin and a lazy retriever x called Moon.

Ellie Ward Care

Ellie joins us on Saturdays and during College/ University holidays to help Jenny Emma and Greg on the wards. Away from work Ellie is interested in things that happened 2000 years ago and controlling Fred, her troublesome lurcher

Kirstin Trainee Veterinary Nurse

Kirstin has recently joined us after 8 months in another practice. She enjoys riding her horses and drawing animal portraits. She also owns dogs, rabbits, rats and tropical fish. Kirstin is hoping to train as a veterinary nurse.

Katy Trainee Nurse

Maria Head Receptionist

Maria has enjoyed working with John and Kate for a number of years as a veterinary receptionist. She is looking forward to working many more years at Anton Vets ever expanding practice with our very willing and helpful team. Marias hobbies include gardening, music and spending time with her cats and birds and any other pets.

Nicole Receptionist

Nicole enjoys spending time with her dogs doing agility and competing her horses. She also has an interest in photography too, when she gets a bit of free time to snap away!

Debbie Receptionist

Debbie has worked in health care for many years and had a career change from 2 legs to 4 legs with feathers and fur, she loves camping and historical buildings. Debbie has 3 cats and a dog.

Ruth Receptionist

Ruth is studying biology at university, and works on reception during her holidays. Her hobbies include sleeping and stroking Tony.

Lynne Receptionist

Lynne joined the practice in January 2015 and has many years of reception experience. She has a passion for British Wildlife and her interests are supporting Southampton Football Club, 70s/80s Rock Ballads, Dinosaurs (RAWR!) and looking after her rescue Ferret “Mr Plod”

Denise Receptionist/Pharmacy

Denise is originally from the Netherlands. Since coming to England she’s worked and trained in pharmacy before joining the Anton Vets team, both in their pharmacy and on reception! Always having had furry companions she’s currently owned by a crazy pet ferret called Kirby.  Outside of work she loves photography, riding motorcycles and camping and travelling around the canals and rivers on her narrowboat, Kizzie.

Karen Secretary

Karen looks after our accounts. She enjoys sewing and looking after her 4 dogs, Dougal, Roan, Henry and Martini. Karen is married to Dave Waters who runs the Great Bustard Group and is often found helping with this.

Clive Handyman

Since retiring, Clive visits to carry out our repair and maintenance work. Before he retired he was responsible for designing the clinic.

Jenny Work experience coordinator and general help

Jenny started work with us in April 2010. Jenny works 5 mornings a week, alongside keeping the building clean and tidy she also co-ordinates our work experience students and looks after our health and safety.


I am the ‘Practice cat’. Having lived rough in the area for a number of years, and watched Anton Vets arrive and expand, I have adopted them. I enjoy taking lots of naps, eating and trying to get into consult rooms. My other interests include cuddles and being nice to people who pass the practice.


Tubbs is the practice cockatoo who lives in the surgery during the week but goes home to John and Kate’s at the weekends. He is very beautiful and very noisy and often contributes to telephone calls.

Slugella Office Manager

Slug’ is in charge of keeping Karen and Caroline busy and under control. She is also responsible for filing (in her bed) and shredding… lots of shredding.
